佳栄 Fishermen sell their catch before their boats return to port.

Tokyo, Japan

Yuichi-kai, the Tobu fishing association in Japan, launched a system that uses Twitter and an online shopping site to deliver fish straight from the ocean to its customers within 12 hours.

The fishermen post their catch every morning on an online shopping site for customers to immediately check photos and videos of the fish. Details are updated in real time using Twitter accounts named after their ships, @Yoshieimaru and @Kageyamamaru.

The fishermen check orders on their mobile phones while still aboard the ship so they can process the orders immediately once they return to port.
