Awakened at night, hearing the sound of a helicopter hovering overhead, 33-year old computer programmer Sohaib Athar tweeted about what was going on around him, without yet having any idea what it meant.
By the end of the night he had inadvertently live-tweeted the military raid on the Osama bin Laden compound.
His Tweets first expressed annoyance as he joked about using a giant flyswatter to shoo the hovering helicopter away. Later his tone became concerned as he described a huge, window-shaking bang.
After the news of the raid broke he received a lot of media attention, which he dismissed, saying he was just someone awake late at night, tweeting what he saw and heard.
