Queen Rania al Abdullah started a global conversation (with a sandwich).

Amman, Jordan

To reach across cultures and continents, her Majesty, Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, uses Twitter to show the world the Jordan she loves.

Her children’s book, The Sandwich Swap tells the story of two girls who are best friends until a lunch swap turns sour. Initially hurtful, the two girls reconcile, and draw on the experience to start an international food festival at school. They turned strife into a global picnic.

@QueenRania does the same on Twitter. She tweets in both Arabic and English and actively replies, responds and connects people in a global conversation. Her Tweets champion the role of education to bring peace and opportunity.
